The 5-Minute Chore That Takes an Entire Saturday

Every weekend starts with incredible confidence.

You look around the house, crack your knuckles, and proudly announce,

“This won’t take long.”

Those six words have ruined more Saturdays than bad weather.

It usually starts with one tiny task.

Maybe you’re replacing a light bulb.

Maybe you’re hanging a picture.

Maybe you’re fixing that squeaky cabinet door that’s been annoying you for months.

Five minutes, tops.

Then you realize you need a screwdriver.

The screwdriver is in the garage.

The garage is a disaster.

Well… since you’re already there, you might as well organize it.

Three hours later, you’ve sorted old holiday decorations, found a tennis racket from 2009, discovered enough extension cords to power a small city, and somehow ended up reading the instruction manual for a leaf blower you don’t even own anymore.

You finally find the screwdriver.

You head back inside.

Now you can’t remember what you needed it for.

So you sit down for “just a minute.”

That minute somehow includes a snack, scrolling through your phone, checking the weather, watching a video about someone restoring a 1967 pickup truck, and wondering if maybe you should start woodworking as a hobby.

By late afternoon, you’re exhausted.

You proudly tell everyone,

“I’ve been busy all day.”

Technically, that’s true.

The light bulb?

Still burned out.

The picture?

Still leaning against the wall.

The cabinet?

Still squeaks every single time you open it.

But on the bright side…

Your garage has never looked better.

At least until next weekend.
