Why Every Group Chat Has the Same Four People

Group chats are supposed to make life easier.

Instead, they’ve become tiny social experiments.

Every group chat has exactly the same four people.

First, there’s The Ghost.

They haven’t sent a message since 2023, but somehow they’re still in every conversation. You begin to wonder if they even know the chat still exists.

Then there’s The Novel Writer.

You ask, “What time are we meeting?”

They respond with seven paragraphs, three screenshots, a voice message, and enough background information to qualify as a documentary.

Next comes The Meme Dealer.

They contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation… until they drop the funniest meme you’ve ever seen. Then they disappear for another week.

Finally, there’s The Instant Responder.

You send a message.

Before you’ve even put your phone down…

“Seen.”

“Typing…”

“👍”

It’s honestly a little scary.

And let’s not forget the moment someone accidentally sends a message to the wrong group.

Panic.

Delete for Everyone.

Too late.

At least twelve people already read it.

The funniest part is when everyone agrees on a plan.

“Let’s meet at 6:00.”

Perfect.

Five minutes before six, the messages begin.

“Running ten minutes late.”

“Traffic.”

“I forgot.”

“Can we make it tomorrow?”

Somehow, planning something with six adults requires the coordination of a NASA space mission.

But despite the chaos, random memes, missed messages, and endless notifications, group chats are where some of our funniest memories begin.

Even if nobody ever answers the original question.
